Lancaster Pool Closing Date
Posted on Sep 1st, 2020
Many residents in the neighborhood have inquired about extending the pool season later than Labor Day weekend due to the delayed start. The Board of Directors have taken this into consideration throughout the 2020 pool season; however, after closely monitoring the upcoming weather, they have decided September 7th will be the last day the pool will be open. We appreciate your understanding.

Lancaster Pool Update
Posted on May 14th, 2020
No doubt you have seen reports in the news that several municipalities in the metro area have decided to close their pools for the entire season or reduce available locations.  The Lancaster Board of Directors has likewise been struggling with the decisions regarding opening the pool for the last six weeks.

With the traditional start of the Lancaster pool season right around the corner coupled with the ongoing Coronavirus Pandemic the Board of Directors has decided that the earliest that the pool could open would be when Kansas and Johnson County enter Phase 3 of their reopening plans.  See links below.  Keep in mind that the proposed timelines outlined by the state and county could be pushed back due to further outbreaks and it is still possible that our pool will remain closed for the entire season.

Required maintenance will continue to be performed on the pool to keep it in good working order for years to come even if it is not used this season.

The Board understands that with many activities already cancelled this summer that the community pool would become one of the few recreational centers available for enjoyment by Lancaster Residents.  It is also recognized that many would be disappointed if it remains closed.

The Board of Directors will continue to assess the situation and appreciates your understanding during these difficult times.

Lancaster Yard Waste Pickup
Posted on Apr 3rd, 2020
Yard waste is collected from April 1 through December 31 on Wednesday.  Due to the current Coronavirus Pandemic trash haulers have been given the option to not pick up yard waste or anything outside of our normal trash and recycling bins.  At this time our trash hauler, WCA, is currently picking up yard waste.  If the HOA Board hears otherwise it will be posted here.

Please only put your yard waste out for the normal collection day.  WCA has been pretty consistent over the last year in picking up yard waste on the scheduled day or the day after if there is a back log or equipment problems.  We all remember several years ago when the pickup was hit or miss.  That issue appears to have been mostly resolved.

Additionally, please remember to be a good neighbor and remove piles of brush from your yard (front and back).  Not only does this beautify our neighborhood but also discourages varmints from moving onto your property.
Homeowner Tree Information
Posted on Sep 5th, 2019
As you walk down our sidewalks there are trees with low hanging branches. Please be courteous to neighbors and keep trees trimmed to an appropriate height. The City of Overland Park requirements are 8 feet over the sidewalk and 12.6 feet over the street.  Click here for more information.

If you are elderly or disabled and need assistance in trimming your trees please contact Lancaster resident Jonathan Van Haste at (913)-244-7592.  We will make this into a fun Cub Scout project!

Please note that our contracted trash & recycling company WCA does NOT pick up yard waste in January - March.

Please be aware that Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) has been identified in the Johnson County, KS area this year. If you have Ash Trees you may want to contact an Arborist to see if preventative measures or treatment is needed.
